GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the Development and Marketing team and under the supervision of the Associate Director, the Fund Development and Marketing Event Intern is responsible for coordinating, and maintaining key functions to support senior management and AAFS development team. Functions include coordination of marketing program/special event planning, marketing operations process, publicity and promotions funds, donor/sponsor development and contact, and internal team coordination. Responsibilities include working closely with AAFS key decision makers, corporations and the international communities in the greater Houston area.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Administration
- Draft and prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents
- Proof/edit documents for accuracy, content and format
- Interface with AAFS clients, partners, vendors and staff on the telephone, electronically, in person and in writing
Marketing Program Coordination
- Coordinate with key decision makers to identify specific category objectives
- Ensure accuracy of brochures and communications
- Ensure the consistency and timeliness of internal and external communications
- Coordinate on-event marketing initiatives
- Support development and administration personnel (assist with meeting preparation, proof and bind materials and presentations)
Marketing Operations
- Assist with promotional execution timeline making sure all parties are on schedule
- Coordinate with AAFS development team for program element feature deliverables
- Assist AAFS development executives to finalized program details
- Coordinate with IT coordinators for necessary program element technical approvals and execution
- Assist development executives with program elements implementation (element specifications, promotional material specifications, delivery, quotes)
- Coordinate with internal teams for deliverables on material details needed for program elements.
Donor/Sponsor Development and Contact Coordination
- Coordinate key promotional deliverables for all marketing programs insuring on time delivery and execution
- Coordinate licensee/partner communication for respective program partnerships
- Assist quotes and invoices for all marketing related projects
- Coordinate key promotional deliverables for all marketing programs insuring on time delivery and execution for cost savings.
QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant must have the following qualifications:
- Be currently enrolled full-time in an accredited university and plan to return to college full-time in fall of 2007
- Strong writing and computer skills in Windows XP environment, Excel, Word, etc.
- Preference will be given to applicants with experience working with diverse communities.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
