GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide management oversight to all clinical programs
  2. Provide direct clinical supervision to all clinical staff and consultation to program staff
  3. Provide direct clinical services (caseload to be negotiated)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Oversee the recruitment and hiring process of clinical staff.
  2. Provide direct supervision of clinical staff (full time, part time, contract, students, and post-doctoral fellows if appropriate).
  3. Conduct regularly scheduled performance reviews with clinical staff.
  4. Serve as a clinical resource for all agency staff.
  5. Develop and implement new clinical programs.
  6. Monitor and evaluate existing programs.
  7. Assist in the grant development process.
  8. Establish and maintain a full credentialing system for the agency including practice compliance and licensure requirements.
  9. Ensure compliance, monitor and evaluate the clinical protocol, Policy and Procedures Manual, the Operations Manual, workload standards, and monthly reporting requirements.
  10. Provide individual, family, and group counseling (caseload to be negotiated).
  11. Liaise with other social service agencies in providing clinical services to the Asian/Asian-American Houston-area community.
  12. Maintain and monitor a clinical data system and ensure completion of required paperwork in a professional and timely manner.
  13. Implement continuous quality improvement standards.
  14. Make professional presentations on behalf of the agency.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the executive director.

QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant must have the following qualifications:

  1. Masters or doctoral degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or other mental health related disciplines.
  2. Appropriate State of Texas licensure in his/her field of clinical practice and compliance with the ethical standards of the profession.
  3. A minimum of five (5) years of postgraduate experience in counseling and/or psychotherapy.
  4. A minimum of three (3) year of experience supervising clinical staff, along with necessary coursework requirements as set forth by the respective licensing board.
  5. Adequate professional liability insurance.
  6. Excellent management skills to work with a diverse staff and client population.
  7. Knowledge/training in the culturally-competent provision of clinical services.
  8. Demonstrated competency in Asian culture and ability to work with people of varying backgrounds.
  9. Proficiency in at least one (1) Asian language for counseling purposes.
  10. Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
  11. Experience in public speaking and psycho-educational teaching.
  12. Ability to work independently.
  13. Possess excellent time management and organizational skills.
  14. Willingness to work a flexible schedule (including some evening & weekend hours).
  15. Social Security card or proof of citizenship or work permission.
